Holstein Women’s Scholarship
2012 Application Rules
Scholar Application - The 2012 application is now available in a Word Fillable Form.
Applicant must be a Junior Holstein member of both the respective state Holstein association and the National Junior Holstein Association, and have a dairy farm background.
At the time of the National Holstein Convention, applicant must have completed one year at a college, university or technical school, and be majoring in an agriculturally related course of study. Ag-related field of study will be waived for students with a strong Holstein background.
Application, including an official transcript of grades, must be postmarked by May 10, 2011. Applications received after May 20 will not be accepted. Fall semester transcripts will be accepted in the event that spring transcripts are unavailable.
Applicant must be present for personal interview to be held at the Holstein USA Convention in Springfield, MO, June 2012. No exceptions to the personal interview are available at this time
The applicant will be evaluated by a panel of judges, with a weighting of 40% on the application and 60% on the personal interview.
Scholarship winners agree to use the scholarship within 12 months from date received. Scholarship winner must provide proof of enrollment (fee statement or schedule of classes) before monies are dispersed. Failure to provide proof within 60 days of award date will result in forfeiture of scholarship.
The scholarship award will be made payable directly to the student’s college, university or tech school, with instructions to credit the student’s account for the amount of the award.
Previous winners are not eligible to apply.
